Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor in Springfield – My Journey
I'm a purple belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor with over eight years of training experience, currently based in Nixa MO. I train under Professor JW Wright at Gracie Humaita St. Louis and have a strong foundation built through years at Leake BJJ under Mike Leake, Gracie Humaita Ozark under Ronnie Page and Springfield BJJ under Brian Stubner.
Throughout my journey, I've competed in regional BJJ tournaments like AGF and Fuji, and I’m proud to have earned a gold medal at the IBJJF World Championships as a blue belt and a bronze at purple belt.
More than just a sport, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has shaped who I am. It’s taught me mental toughness, physical discipline, and built lifelong friendships through the unique camaraderie of the BJJ community.
While sport jiu-jitsu continues to grow, I believe it's essential to preserve the roots of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu—focused on self-defense and real-world effectiveness. That’s why my passion lies in teaching practical, self-defense-based BJJ for everyday people in the Springfield area.
