Why We’re Bringing Gold BJJ Gi’s to Forged

At Forged, we don’t put our name on things lightly.

Jiu Jitsu has taught me to be intentional—about who I train with, the environment I train in, and the equipment I use. After eight years on the mats, I’ve learned that details matter. A gi isn’t just something you wear; it’s something that gets tested every round.

Before deciding to bring Gold BJJ gi’s into Forged, I bought a couple myself to try them out. I wanted to feel them on the mats before offering them to anyone else.

So far, the experience has been solid.

The first thing that stood out to me was the fit. The cut is clean and functional—athletic without being restrictive, and not overly baggy. It moves well during training and doesn’t feel like it’s fighting against you. The material feels comfortable right out of the bag, without that stiff, break-in period a lot of gi’s have.

I can’t speak yet to long-term durability, and I’m not going to pretend I can. What I can say is that Gold clearly put thought into how their gi’s fit and feel, and the overall customer experience has been straightforward and professional. That matters to me.

At Forged, we value discipline, strength, and community. That includes being honest about what we offer. I won’t carry gear just to fill shelf space. I’ll continue to train in these gi’s, put them through real rounds, and let the results speak for themselves.

For now, Gold meets the standard I expect in terms of fit, comfort, and how they treat their customers. That’s why we’re making them available at the gym.

If you have questions about sizing or want to check one out in person, just ask. We’ll grow with what proves itself over time—on the mats, under pressure. I’ll be updating this as time goes on to ensure I can confidently speak to their durability.

Their entire line of gi’s, rash guards, and everything else can be found at goldbjj.com
